The Pigman is Real is a scary story for kids written by a user named Jenn. It’s about an old man who lives in a huge mansion with a vast, ancient library of books.
There was a rich old man who lived a solitary life. He was a recluse and kept mostly to himself. He didn’t have any friends or family and his only love in life was literature. He loved books and sent all his time reading. The old man bought a huge mansion that sat on a hill in a remote part of the forest. The mansion had a huge library of books that had been left behind by the previous owners. The vast library took up most of the house.
He decided to hire a maid to keep up with the maintenance of his library. The maid lived in the house with him. The old man was very happy in his new house and spent most of his time sitting in a big easy chair in front of the fireplace, reading his books. He told the maid to clean the library and all the dusty, old books on the shelves.
One night, when the old man was asleep, the maid was cleaning the shelves in an unused section of the library where the oldest, dustiest books were kept. One book fell off the shelf and landed on the ground by her feet. When she picked it up, she saw that the title of the book was “The Pigman”. She looked at the back cover, hoping to find a description, but it was blank. She opened the book and scanned through the pages. On every page, someone had scrawled the same sentence over and over: “The pigman is real the pigman is real the pigman is real…”
On the last page, there was a picture of a man. He was dressed in a fancy suit and pants. His body was normal enough but his face was ghastly. The man’s eyes were quite large, blacker than the rest of the ink. His nose was a pigs nose, snout and nostrils and all. His mouth was open and snarling with very sharp teeth inside. His hands were normal except for the fingernails which were almost one foot long. One of the man’s arms was streched outward and he appeared to be beckoning towards the reader.
Terrified, the maid slammed the book shut and put it back on the shelf. She put a hand over her heart and tried to catch her breath. She laughed at herself for getting so worked up over a silly picture. She decided to go clean somewhere else, but when she turned around, she stopped in her tracks.
In the big easy chair in front of the fireplace, there was a strange figure. It was a man, but all she could see was the sleeve of a black suit and a hand resting on the arm of the chair. The fingers of the hand were drumming on the arm. The fingernails were almost a foot long.
The maid screamed and ran as fast as she could to the door. She only looked up when she got to the door, and she saw a man standing on the balcony. The man was wearing a black suit, but his face was in shadow. His hands were resting on the railing. The fingernails were almost a foot long.
The maid raced upstairs and woke the old man. She started babbling in broken English about a pigman in the library. The old man couldn’t understand what she was talking about. He cursed her and went down to the library to see what had frightened her. He looked through the many, many rows of shelves that made up the oldest part of the library. Finally, he came across a book that was lying in the middle of the floor. He picked it up and looked at the title. “The Pigman”. He flipped through the pages and found the same sentence written over and over again: “The Pigman Is Real The Pigman Is Real The Pigman Is Real”
He laughed and thought this must have been what scared the old lady. He placed the book back on the shelf. Just then, he heard the sound of something sliding across the floor. He looked down and was shocked to see the book lying at his feet again. It was open and the words on the page facing him read: “The Pigman Is Real. The Pigman Is Real. The Pigman is Real!”
The hair on the back of his neck stood on end when he heard a low, rumbling growl behind him. Slowly, he turned around and saw the pigman standing just a foot away from him. His long fingernails were reaching out towards him. The man let out an ear-piercing scream.
Days later, the maid was found running through the forest. Her clothes were tattered and torn and her eyes were wild. She looked like she was out of her mind and just kept repeating over and over, “The Pigman is real! The Pigman is real!”
The old man was never seen again.
Ten years later a young couple moved into the house and found the library. One day as the husband was walking through the oldest-looking corner of the library, he stumbled on a dusty old book. When he picked it up and opened it, he found the words “The Pigman Is Real” scrawled on every page. He looked up and saw a strange man seated in a shabby old armchair. The fingernails drumming on the arm were a foot long…
