Silent Rose is a scary story about a young girl who refused to speak after her parents were killed in a horrible car accident. It is based on two different stories, one by dead.silence and another by snowdeath.
A long time ago, there was a young girl named Rose. She had two loving parents and she led an idyllic life. She didn’t have a care in the world. All that came to an end on her 13th birthday.
Her parents had arranged a special birthday dinner for her. That night, as they were driving home, Rose was happily chatting away to her parents, telling them all about her plans for the future. Unfortunately, her father was concentrating on what Rose was saying instead of focusing on the road.
All of a sudden, her mother screamed, “LOOK OUT!â€
Her father turned around just in time to see the headlights of a truck coming straight towards them. He tried to swerve, but it was too late. There was a screech of brakes and deafening crash as the sickening sound of grinding metal filled Rose’s ears.
When she woke up, she found herself lying in a hospital bed. The doctors said that Rose was lucky to be alive. Her parents had been killed on impact, but somehow she had managed to escape with only minor cuts and bruises.
Although her injures would get better in time, the lasting damage was on the inside. Rose had emotional scars that would never heal. She blamed herself for her parents’ untimely death. She was the one who had been talking. She was the one who had distracted her father. She was the reason they were dead.
When she had recovered enough to be released from the hospital, Rose was sent to an orphanage. She was still beating herself up for what had happened and refused to talk to anyone. Filled with remorse, she visited the cemetery every Sunday and laid fresh roses on her parents’ graves.
At the orphanage, Rose was always silent and spent all her time alone. The other kids thought she was weird. They called her “Silent Rose”. Nobody wanted to hang around with her and she became an outcast. Some of them were scared of her and others just bullied her. They teased her, pushed her around, made fun of her and called her names.
There was one group of boys who were especially nasty to her. They wanted to teach her a lesson for being so weird and different. The boys would follow her around, tripping her up and laughing at her when she fell to the ground. Whenever no one was looking, they would attack her, punching and kicking her viciously.
They took advantage of the fact that she wouldn’t talk and tortured her night and day, knowing that she would suffer in silence.
One day, the boys followed her to the cemetery and watched as she laid fresh roses on her parents’ graves. They took the roses and began beating her with them, scratching her face and hands until they were bloody. Then, they took it way too far. They stuffed the roses down her throat and suffocated her.
Rose was lying on the ground and she wasn’t moving. Her skin was deathly pale and her face was a sickening shade of blue. One of the boys knelt down and felt her pulse. She was dead.
When the boys realized what they had done, they knew they had to cover up their crime. They dragged her body into a wooded area and quickly buried her in a shallow grave.
They covered her up with sticks and leaves and then ran back to the orphanage, acting for all the world like nothing was wrong. Nobody missed Rose. The other kids never even bothered to ask where she was and the people who ran the orphanage assumed she had simply run away.
After that, strange things started to happen… One by one, the boys who had killed Rose began to have weird recurring dreams in which they saw nothing but roses… thousands and thousands of red roses… and they heard nothing but silence… stark, echoing silence.
A few days later, one the boys were found dead in his bed. There were livid red marks around his throat and he was surrounded by rose petals. The next day, another boy suffered the same fate. Day after day, the boys who had murdered Rose mysteriously turned up dead and nobody could understand what had killed them.
One night, the final boy was laying awake in bed. During the day, he had consumed several cups of coffee and numerous bottles of coke. He didn’t want to go to sleep. He wanted to escape the nightmares.
All of a sudden, he heard a faint noise and when he opened his eyes, a girl was standing over him. Her face was pale and stained with blood and she was holding a bunch of red roses.
She staggered towards him, with a malevolent grin on her face. He wanted to scream, but when he opened his mouth, no sound would come out.
She started to sing slowly, in a voice that sounded like nails scratching down a blackboard.
“Ring, a ring of rosies,
a pocketful of posies,
atishoo, atishoo…”
The boy twisted and turned in his bed, struggling to breathe. He took his last breath, then was still.
The girl whispered under her breath, “…We all fall down.†as she disappeared.
Rose was silent once again and so was everyone who had made her that way…
