Drinking and Driving

Drinking and Driving is a spooky story written by a member of this website named scarykid1413. It’s about a group of teenagers who drive home drunk after a party.

Drinking and Driving

It was after midnight and I was driving home with my three friends, Stephen, Della and Shawn. All four of us had just left a wild party and we were completely drunk. My boyfriend, Shawn was so out of it that he could barely stand.

Since I was the most sober out of all of us, I was chosen to drive home. Shawn and I climbed into the front of the car, Della and Stephen sat in the back.

“Tasha, that party was really cool, am I right?” Della moaned.

I just nodded. I started up the car and we were on our way to my place. About halfway there, we were driving through a deserted neighborhood. Just a few yards ahead, I saw a woman walking along the road. I wondered what she was doing out walking around at this time of night.

“Oh my gosh, look at that lady!” Shawn said. “It’s late and she’s out here all by herself. How about we give her a ride?”

Normally, I would never pick strangers on the road. I always feared they’d kidnap me or something. But I was so hammered that I swerved the car to the right and pulled up beside her.

I rolled the window down and said, “Hey lady, you need a ride?”

She looked back at me. I couldn’t see her face because it was covered by her long black hair. She shook her head, then kept on walking.

“Well, I guess she doesn’t want a ride,” Stephen said.

“C-come on, Tasha, go ask her again,” said Shawn. “She’s probably just being polite. I feel kinda bad for her.”

“Well whoopty damn doo!” I exclaimed. “I’m not gonna chase this woman down like a maniac. I’ll ask her one more time.”

I cruised along until we were beside her again.

“Lady, just get in the car,” I said. “I know you need a ride home.”

“Yeah, lady, quit being difficult!” Della shouted from the back seat.

The lady looked back at me once again, her hair still shielding her face. She was wearing a long white nightgown, which I thought was pretty odd. She didn’t reply, but she walked over to the rear of the car, opened the door and got in without so much as a “thank you”.

I started up the car and began driving. Through the rear-view mirror, I still couldn’t make out her face. Della and Stephen were in the backseat with her and they were both staring at her.

“Whew! You stink lady!” Stephen said, making Della laugh.

I could also smell the odor. It smelled like rotten eggs and raw fish. Even with the window down, it didn’t help. Her stench was overpowering. Even creepier, I still couldn’t see her face and she still hadn’t said one word to us.

“Where do you live?” I asked.

She pointed up the road. Her fingers were bony and crooked.

“That doesn’t tell me much,” I said.

Della and Stephen were still staring at her. I was really eager to see her face or hear her say something!

“Lady, are you deaf?” growled Shawn. “She just asked you where you live?”

The woman still didn’t reply. She was just looking down, ignoring us. It made me really steamed. Suddenly, in a drunken haze, Stephen grabbed her arm.

“Respond to us when we talk to you, dammit!” he yelled.

Just then, the lady looked up and I saw the most hideous and grotesque sight I have ever witnessed. Her face was completely covered in blood. She had no eyes, only gaping black sockets with maggots and worms crawling from them. Her mouth was twisted in an evil grin and her teeth were a dark shade of yellow.

“DON’T TOUCH ME!” she screeched.

Della was the first to scream. Then we all screamed. I was so surprised that I lost control of the wheel. The car lurched forward and slammed head-first into a deep ditch. Then I blacked out.

When I woke up, I was in a hospital bed. The nurse came in and told me I’d been in a coma for two weeks. When I asked her where my friends were, a distraught look came across her face.

“Sweetie, I hate to be the one to break this bad news to you, but your two friends who were sitting in the back seat are dead. Your friend who was sitting in the front seat survived, but he’s still in a coma.”

The demonic lady we had come in contact with was never found. The police could never trace her.
