Calendar

The Calendar is a short scary story about a woman who has an encounter with a creepy door-to-door salesman. It is based on an urban legend from France.

A woman and her husband were at home one evening when they heard a knock on the door. They were surprised because it was late and they weren’t expecting any visitors. The woman got up to answer the door and when she opened it, she found a strange man standing there on the doorstep.

He introduced himself, saying he was a salesman and he was selling calendars door to door. The woman said she didn’t need anything, but the man wouldn’t take no for an answer. He kept pressuring her to buy one of his calendars and eventually, she got so fed up, she yelled at him to go away and slammed the door in his face.

The next evening, when the woman came home after a long day at work, she saw something sitting on the kitchen table. It was a calendar. She picked it up and saw that one date in particular had been circled with a red crayon.

It was the date of her husband’s birthday.

When she took a closer look, she realized that the red mark was not crayon, but dried blood.

Just then, she heard a strange noise.

Bump! Bump! Bump!

She looked around. It seemed to be coming from the hall closet.

Bump! Bump! Bump!

Slowly, she reached out, grasped the handle and opened the door. She screamed in horror at what she found inside.

Wedged in between the coats was her husband. He had a rope around his neck and he was hanging from the closet railing. He had been murdered. The sound she heard was his feet bumping against the closet door.
