Boldt Castle is a haunted castle in New York. It is located on Heart Island and tours leave from Alexandria Bay and other places in Ontario.
The building of Bolt Castle was started in 1900 by a multi-millionaire hotel manager named George Boldt. When his beloved wife, Louise, died in 1904, George ordered all construction to be stopped. In his grief, he never set foot on Heart Island again and left the castle as a monument to his deceased wife.
Boldt Castle was abandoned for many years, but it was finally restored and accepts visitors today.
They say that the ghost of Mrs Boldt haunts the castle and you can still hear her footsteps echoing down the long corridors. On some nights, people have seen a light shining in the uppermost windows. It is believed that this is the ghost of Mrs Boldt returning to see the restoration of Boldt Castle.
