Caterpillar House

Caterpillar House is a scary horror comic about a man who attends a dinner party with some weird guests. It appeared in The Tormented #1 (1954).

John Turner receives an invitation from his old friend Ralph to attend a dinner party. When he arrives, he finds that the house is in the mountains, surrounded by a dense growth of trees and shrubs.

That evening, at dinner, John finds the other guests a little strange. They don’t talk very much and they all seem to be swaying back and forth in their chairs.

John goes to bed early, but when he peeks out the window, he sees something strange. The other guests seem to be crawling around on the ground.

During the night, John wakes up and goes looking for a glass of water.

He hears some strange noises coming from Ralph’s room and when he opens the door, he is greeted by a bizarre sight.

John freaks out and runs back to his room. He can’t believe what he just saw and tells himself that he must be out of his mind. In the morning, he asks his friend about it, but Ralph tells him he was just having a nightmare.

The two men go for a walk in the gardens. All of a sudden, John sees a caterpillar crawling along the ground. A feeling of revulsion comes over him and he stomps it to death.

Ralph flies into a rage and storms off. Later on, he comes back to apologize and John notices that he is swaying back and forth, just like the other guests.

That night, John peeks out the window and sees the other guests crawling around in the garden.

He goes to sleep, but later that night, he is awoken by a choking sensation. He feels like he can’t breathe.

Then, as his eyes adjust to the darkness, he realizes that he is wrapped up in a cocoon and a bunch of caterpillars are eating him alive.
