Scary For Kids

House Of Pain

The House of Pain is a scary story about three brothers who were killed 5 years ago. With this story I’m trying something new… This is a work in progress, so I will be regularly posting updates to the story. So keep checking back to find out what happens. I hope you enjoy it.

House Of Pain

House of Pain

Three brothers were spending the summer in a village near the coast. They were living with their grandparents for the holidays because their parents had to work and couldn’t leave the city.

At 16, Tomas was the oldest of the brothers. Javier was 14 years old and the youngest was Alejandro, at 12.

The long Summer days passed peacefully for the boys, as they spent their time playing on the beach, swimming in the ocean and going on bike rides along the coast.

One day, at the end of July, Javier happened to notice an old, dilapidated house on the cliffs. It seemed as if it was unoccupied and when he mentioned it to his brothers, they suggested taking a bike ride up to the cliffs to explore the abandoned building.

The idea was especially interesting to Alejandro, because he was a fan of scary stories that dealt with ghosts, haunted houses and all things mysterious.

The boys were always up to mischief and hated it when their grandparents tried to tell them what to do. For this reason, they decided that they would sneak out of the house, late at night, after their grandparents had gone to sleep.

Lying in bed that night, Tomas began to have some misgivings. From his bedroom window, he could see the house on the cliffs. He started to wonder if it was really such a good idea to go exploring an abandoned house in the middle of the night. However, he did not share his fears with his siblings because, as the oldest, he was afraid that they would consider him a coward.

Finally, the time came for the boys to sneak out of the house. As their grandparents slept peacefully, the three brothers tip-toed downstairs and silently closed the front door behind them. The moon was full that night and it lit their way as they set out on their bikes in the direction of the cliffs.

Tomas was still worried. He couldn’t shake the vague sense of unease, but he told himself that he had to go along for the ride. After all, as the oldest, it was his duty to make sure that nothing happened to his younger brothers.

It was nearly one o’clock in the morning when the three brothers reached the top of the cliffs. The decrepit, old house seemed menacing in the pale moonlight. They parked their bikes just in front of the door, but before they could open it, Tomas grabbed his brothers by the shoulder and held them back. His face was white and he looked as if he was scared to death.

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this”, said Tomas nervously. “Maybe we should just forget it and go home.”

“We’ve come this far”, replied Javier. “We might as well go through with it.”

12-year old Alejandro chuckled. “What’s the matter, Big Brother?”, he said. “You scared of ghosts or something? Come on, let’s check out this place.”

Tomas reluctantly agreed and, strengthening his resolve, he followed his brothers into the house.

As soon as they opened the front door, they were assailed by a smell of mold and decay that was almost overpowering. The boys had to spend a few minutes just getting used to the awful stench. The interior of the house was pitch black and they could barely see a thing. Luckily, Tomas had been smart enough to think ahead. He took three flashlights out of his backpack and handed two of them to his siblings.

Part Two:

When they switched on their torches, the first thing they saw was a small hallway which ended in a flight of stairs that led to the second floor. Before going upstairs, the boys decided to explore the rooms on the ground floor. There was a small kitchen, a bathroom and a living room with a large cupboard. Opening the cupboard, they found an old, broken umbrella and a big pair of yellow wellington boots. The boots were of the type a fisherman would wear.

Climbing up to the second floor, they found a corridor with doors on both sides, so they decided to split up and explore the rooms one by one. There was nothing of interest in these rooms until Alejandro walked into one room in particular.

The walls of the room were lined with shelves full of dolls. In the glare of the flashlight, it seemed as if their eyes were moving. Dismissing it as a trick of the light, he shone his torch around the room and saw that there was a bed, a table with a record player on it, a desk and a chair. Everything seemed normal, when suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, Alejandro thought he saw something lying on the far side of the bed.

He turned his head and the flashlight illuminated what appeared to be the body of a young girl. She was dressed in old clothes and covered in dust. Was she dead or just sleeping? He couldn’t tell. Cautiously, Alejandro moved around the bed and pointed the flashlight at her face. What he saw was enough to make a grown man run screaming from the room.

The girl in the bed had no eyes. Her face was completely covered in dried blood.

Part Three:

Alejandro was trembling with fear. He wanted to run, but his feet were frozen to the spot. Just then, the record player sprang to life and began to play a creepy old song. He looked up. The dolls on the shelves were moving their arms back and forth, their eyes glinting with evil intent. The door of the room suddenly slammed shut of its own accord. He ran over and tried to open it, but it was locked.

“Help me! Help me!”, screamed Alejandro.

In another room, Tomas and Javier heard their brother’s screams and came running down the corridor. They could hear Alejandro begging for help and banging on the other side of the door. Desperate to save him, the two boys tried to break down the door, flinging themselves against it, but it was no use. The door held firm.

A few seconds later, Alejandro stopped shouting and the house became deathly silent. Tomas and Javier began to fear the worst.

They tried the door again and, when they turned the handle, it swung open easily. The sight that greeted their eyes was too horrible to comprehend.

Alejandro was sprawled, face-up, on the bed. His eyes were missing and his face was covered in blood. He was dead.

Terrified, the brothers fled down the stairs, but when they reached the front door, they found it locked. All of the windows were boarded up. There was no way out. It was as if the house was not willing to let them out.

Part Four:

While Javier tried to pry the boards off the windows, Tomas attempted to calm himself and think of a way out. Suddenly, he remembered something. When he had looked into the closet in the hallway, he had noticed that some of the floorboards were missing. Perhaps they could get out that way.

Tomas ran to the closet and began pulling at the floorboards, trying to make the hole large enough to squeeze through. The rotting boards came apart in his hands and a foul stench arose from the hole. He stuck his head down through the hole and was horrified by what he saw.

Lying under the boards was the decomposing corpse of a man. The rotting body was dressed in a suit and there were bits of flesh still attached to the bones. The man’s head was missing and there was a bloody axe lying across his chest.

Tomas jerked backwards in disgust and shut the closet door. He began to gag and felt as if he was going to throw up. Leaning against the wall, he tried to catch his breath.

Suddenly, the closet door burst open and the headless corpse emerged. Startled, Tomas dived into the kitchen, narrowly avoiding the icy clutches of the walking dead thing. The corpse shuffled down the hallway, the fingers of its left hand clawing at the air. In its right hand, it brandished the axe.

Tomas tried to scream out to warn his brother, but he couldn’t make a sound. The scream died in his throat. Before he realized what was happening, the thing had reached Javier, who was still struggling with the boarded windows, oblivious to the danger.

As Tomas watched in mute horror, the headless corpse swung the bloody axe and decapitated his younger brother. Javier’s severed head bounced off the wall and rolled down the hallway.

Tomas let out a wail like a wounded animal. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he collapsed to his knees in defeat. As the older brother, he had failed to protect his siblings.

Suddenly, he felt something coil around his neck. He grabbed at it and his hands touched something coarse and rough. It was a rope. Before he had time to do another thing, he was jerked off his feet by an unseen force.

  • This is a very long story! ;D and maybe you guys could do something of a twist i began to notice the Killers are always men and the ghosts are always woman! Maybe a little twist would be nice.

  • Guys, all your stories ROCK! They are way better than any stories Scaryforkids has made. @Scaryforkids Tomas should die by finding a hidden flight of stairs and going up them. Then have him look over the edge of the roof and then he feels a push and he goes sprawling over the edge. The last thing he sees before he dies is the faces of his two brothers and they are saying, “You didn’t protect us, Tomas. You didnt protect us.” in unison. The body of Tomas is found the following day. Knowing their grandsons the boys’ grandparents knew that Alejandro and Javier’s bodies wouldn’t be far off. They call the police and send them into the house but they never come out. EVER.

  • GAAHHHHH THERE HASN’T BEEN AN UPDATE IN 3 MONTHS YOU CALL THIS REGULARLY!?!?!?
…sorry. This is really good though. :'( I wish Alejandro hadn’t died, he and I have a lot in common.

Wait a minute, Alejandro and Tomas are both Spanish names, but Javier is French! o.o

  • this is a story i found about the thirteen ride at alton towers
The girl in the adverts is the daughter of the Earl of Shrewsbury, a very curious and adventurous young girl. She lived with her father in the Towers and regularly ventured out into the grounds to play. However her father warned her never to enter the dark forest behind the house alone for it could be very dangerous. She took this warning seriously and avoided the wood.

On her 13th birthday she received a small Jack Russell for a present and was delighted, immediately taking it outside to play. The dog ran and ran and she chased it, until it disappeared into the dark forest.

She stood on the edge of the tree line looking deep into the darkness, nothing but silence within. She called for the little dog to return, but to no avail. Worried what her father would say when she told him what happened she decided to go into the wood herself and retrieve the dog.

She slowly stepped across the leaf covered ground weaving in and out of tree trunks and broken branches. She could hear the dog barking in the distance and hastily ran toward the sound.

She stopped in her tracks amazed by what she saw in front of her. A large gothic building overrun by roots, the stone figure of a grim reaper like man standing in a small alcove high on the side of the building.

As she moved closer to the crypt she could feel the cold wind sweep through her bright white dress. She came to the door to find it slightly ajar, so much so she could squeeze her small body through the gap.

Inside it was dark, only the small ray of light shining through a round window at the far end of the room. She looked either side of her at the stone coffins stacked in alcove shelves. Six on either side and at the end one stood sideways to her on its own.

Something glistening on the coffin attracted her attention and she moved closer to get a better look. As she stood next to the coffin she could see the beautiful necklace resting on the lid. She picked it up and studied it closely then opening the clasp she wrapped it round her neck.

Suddenly the floor beneath her opened and she dropped down, disappearing into the darkness.
Her father gathered his men and went to look for her, but she was never found.
They say her spirit now haunts the Dark Forest

  • Can you post this:
    Title: Paranormal Playtime

Once upon a time there were three horror fans. There names were Carrie, May, and Paulina. The girls were walking through the forest when the came upon a long, thin, box.
“What IS this?” shrieked Paulina. She picked it up,smirking. “It says, ‘play me,'” murmured May, looking at it over Paulina’s shoulder.
“Well, what are we waiting for?” asked Carrie, snatching it away from Paulina. She sat on the ground and opened it up.
Inside, there was a board game, with a squared path all around the border. In the middle, it read: Fatal Adventure.
“Cool,” said Paulina, not noticing the paper covering the last square. “This is WAY better than any Ouija board!”
“Yeah,” agreed Carrie. She sat down, picked up the die that were inside and rolled.
“Seven!” she exclaimed, picking up her skull pawn and moving it ahead seven spaces.
“Three!” shouted Paulina as she rolled.
    May got a four.
“TEN!” Carrie called, as she moved farther and farther ahead.
Then, as she was just about to put her pawn on the last square, the paper on it slipped away. Under it was a square that read:
    YOU DIE SOON
“Ha,” said Paulina. “This is a funny game.” The girls walked off into the distance, for at night, in May’s backyard, the girls were going to play A Circle in the Soil.
So they did, and the game began.
Carrie went first. “Can I step out?” she asked the devil.
    The devil said ‘No’.
“Can I step out?” May asked, and the devil said ‘Yes’.
“May I step out, please?” asked Paulina, and the devil said ‘No’.
“Can I step out of the circle?” said Carrie. The devil said, ‘NO!’
“Yo, devil, let me step out, brotha!” said Paulina in a slang tone.
    And the devil said ‘Yes’.
Carrie was the last one in the circle.
“Maybe you’ll win next time,” said May, skipping along to her house where the girls would sleep over.
But there wasn’t a next time for Carrie.
Before the horror movie was over, Carrie felt tired and went to bed early. And while she climbed into her sleeping bag, she almost heard footsteps trudging up to her bedroom. She decided the movie was over and fell fast asleep. When Paulina and May found her in the morning, Carrie’s face was stuck in a permanent dead scream, and her guts were strewn all over the floor.
As for May, she fell down breathless, as her heart burst, and Paulina has become horribly twisted, and is now in a mental hospital.

  • @ Gidey
That was really good ! they should poste that as a story on here :D

  • Seems like a really good story ! i got to half of the second part, but unfortunately i’m to lazy to read the rest… anybody mind giving me a short summary of what is going on ?

  • Here is a new story its not very good…

One day Abby was bored, so she decided to take a walk in the dark. She was walking when her phone vibrated in her pocket. She picked it up and saw she had a text from someone named “I’m in the bushes 77” Abby quickly looked at the bushes she had stopped next to she thought she saw a dark shadow move, but decided she had not. She looked at the phone and the text said, “Abby, don’t look in your closet“. Abby put the phone back in her pocket and started walking home. She kept looking behind her and thought she saw a dark shape moving from bush to bush. She went home and had dinner. She was about to go in to her room and go to sleep when she remembered the text. She slowly walked into her room her curiosity got the best of her. She slowly walked to her closet and opened the door. She was startled by a hand on her shoulder and a voice said, “Abby, it’s time for bed.” She realized it was only her dad. She said goodnight and went to sleep. She awoke in the morning about 1:00 to a slow creaking noise. She looked at her closet, its door was slowly opening a shadow started creeping out. It said “good-bye Abby!” The last thing she saw was teeth. Her dad called the police in the morning they arrived and looked for clues. The only evidence was Abby’s shredded body and a phone in the bushes near Abby’s house.

  • Eh, I keep seeing all of these stories written by people, might as well type one I’ve been holding for a while. Not the best author but here it goes…
    The Dark

She nervously tapped her fingers on the desk. Each time she looked at the clock, her stomach twisted worse. “Ms. Kristey, come to the principal’s office please. It’s about Katie…” came from the intercom. She froze. “Alright kids, I’ll be back in a minute.” the teacher said, standing up and glancing over to her.
Katie nervously tapped her fingers again, staring up at the clock. “Psst… What’s going on?” said a voice beside her. Katie looked up and saw her friend Olivia with a look of concern on her face. “M-My mom went into the hospital today, they said she was gonna have a baby….” Katie mumbled, putting her head down again.
“You seem to keep leaving so much….Your grandfather died last month and you were gone a week…You came in late today… What the heck?” Olivia said jokingly. Katie sighed. Ms.Kristey came back into the classroom and grabbed Katie’s arm. She bent down and whispered something to her.
Katie nodded and stood up, walking out of the classroom. She saw her dad waiting at the front door of the school. They got in his silver-colored car and drove down to the hospital. When they arrived, a doctor came out to them. He spoke to Katie’s dad in a quiet voice. She only heard one thing, “Don’t let the little kid in the room.”
“Daddy where’s Mommy??” Katie whimpered. “She and Sadie are with Granddaddy now….” he said, holding back tears. Katie fell to her knees and started crying. “That’s not fair Daddy! I can’t lose mommy and my little sister AND my granddaddy!” she cried, hugging her knees to her chest.
Her dad bent down and hugged her. 4th grade and she had already lost the most important people to her. Her dad helped her up and took her to the car. They drove home and called her 18-year-old brother to tell him the news. He was in drug rehab. Katie walked to her bedroom, laid on her ragged bed, tried to fluff her thin and flattened pillow, pulled her fluffy blanket to her chin, and cried herself to sleep, without her mom being there to turn on her night-light. She no longer feared the empty darkness.
In the morning, she heard a loud knock on the front door. She got up to go answer it, but when she arrived at the door, her dad opened it instead.A police officer stood there. “Your son, Robert, died in a car crash last night, I’m sorry.” he said. The officer just left.
One thing that puzzled Katie, she heard rain and saw it, even though rain was rare in February, it was usually snow. Her house didn’t have many windows, so not much light came in. After the officer left, her dad told her she could go back to sleep, that she wasn’t going to school.
Her dad went in the bedroom next to hers, the one that belonged to him and her mom, and she went in hers. She lie awake in her bed for an hour until she heard a gargling sound and a loud thud. She ran in her dad’s room and found him on the floor, dead from an overdose of prescription medicine. In less than a second, all of the lights in the house shut off.
Katie, instead of crying, walked calmly and quietly to her room and crawled under her bed, moving toys out of her way, and covering all edges of the bed with the toys so she was not visible. She laid there and waited. She heard 4 creaks. One very loud, one a bit loud, one medium, and one quiet. Then she heard a shuffling sound after the creaks.
The sounds continued, growing closer until they were right beside the bed. She heard a baby babbling, an old man’s walker, two older guys sort-of roughhousing, and a female singing soothing songs. Tears streamed down her cheeks. Her family. They were there. “Come on out Katie, we’re right here~” she heard her mother say. She darted out from under her bed, crying.
“Mommy!!” she screamed, looking around for her in the dark.”Right here~” she heard, feeling her mom’s arms wrap around her. She stopped crying. “Why did they say you were dead mommy?” Katie said, hugging her back.
She got no answer. “Mommy?” she said again. She looked up and saw a soft glow of two red eyes. “Mommy?!” she screamed. “SILENCE!” it hissed. That thing was not her mother. Katie tried to run, but that thing, whatever it was, grabbed her neck and started beating her head into the wall.
Katie gasped for air and tried to scream, but they all were caught back in her throat. She couldn’t tell if her vision blurred or she just passed out, the darkness still seemed the same. After a couple of minutes, everything faded away. The last thing she saw was the red eyes staring at her and that thing laughing in her mother’s voice.
