Jealous Girlfriend

The Jealous Girlfriend is a scary story written by bigchief55 in collaboration with ScaryForKids. It’s about a teenage boy who gets some strange text messages from a stalker. Soon afterwards, he starts dating the most beautiful girl in his school.

Jealous Girlfriend

I live in a small town, just north of Little Rock, Arkansas. For my 13th birthday my mom and dad bought me a new iPhone. I thought it was great. I got a bunch of apps for it and some cool games to play. My dad even set up the internet on my phone, so I was basically online 24/7.

One night my parents went out to a fancy restaurant for their wedding anniversary. They said goodbye and told me they would be back by 11. I didn’t really pay attention to what they were saying because I was too busy reading stories on ScaryForKids.com.

As the clock struck ten, I was starting to get bored. None of my friends were online and there was nothing to watch on TV. Just then, my phone buzzed. I had a new message. It was from a private number.

Private: What’s up, handsome?

Me: Who R U?

Private: Someone who finds you very attractive.

Me: Oh yeah? This better not be some dude.

Private: I am no dude.

Me: Tell me who U R then.

Private: Every night I watch you through your bedroom window.

A chill ran down my spine.

Me: That’s a weird thing to say!

Private: Do NOT call me weird. You wanna know what happened to the last guy who called me weird?

Me: What?

Private: I gutted him and left his entrails in the fridge for his mother to find.

Me: U R a freak! I don’t believe it for a second. U R just trying to scare me and U R not doing a good job.

Private: If I wanted to scare you, I’d tell you to look around.

Just then, I heard a sharp TAP! TAP! TAP!

I looked at the window behind me. All I could see was a hand clutching a large steak knife. The blade was glistening in the moonlight.

Terrified, I ran upstairs to my bedroom and locked the door. Hiding in the closet, I called the police and begged them to come quickly.

Minutes later, I heard sirens outside and a policeman started banging on the front door, telling me to open up. After looking out the window to make sure, I went downstairs and let him in.

He and his partner searched the whole house and the surrounding area, but they didn’t find anything suspicious. After that, they took a statement from me and warned me to be careful.

When my parents came home later that night, I told them what had happened. They were shocked and my father said he was going to put a stronger lock on the front door.

The next morning, I still had to get up and go to school. Usually, I caught the bus, but that morning, my father decided to give me a ride. He dropped me at the school gates and watched as I hurried inside.

Just as class was about to start, the door opened and the school principal walked in.

“Good morning class,” he began. “I want to introduce you to your new classmate. Her name is Mandy.”

He stood aside and in walked the most amazing girl I had ever seen. She was tall, blond and extremely beautiful.

At lunchtime, I somehow worked up the courage to talk to her.

“Hey, Mandy,” I began. “My name is-”

“Jordan,” she interrupted. “I know already. You’re in my Science class… So… Do you wanna go out with me?”

I was so stunned that, for a minute, I didn’t know what to say.

“R-r-really?” I stuttered. “Of course! I mean, sure, yes, whatever.”

I couldn’t believe my luck. I finally had a girlfriend. I had never even kissed a girl before, but now I was dating the best-looking girl in school.

During class, the girl beside me passed me a note. I looked around and saw Mandy glaring at me. Her eyes were burning with anger and jealousy. After school, she grabbed me by the throat and pushed me up against the wall.

“You better not be cheating on me!” she growled.

“Baby, you know I would never do that,” I told her.

She rolled her eyes and walked away.

That evening, my friend Sara asked me to come over to her house and help her with her homework. Sara and I had been friends for years. I couldn’t say no.

When I showed up at her front door, Sara invited me in and we sat down in the living room. Her mother made us milk and cookies and I tried to help her with some maths problems.

Suddenly, my phone started buzzing. I looked to see who was calling me.

It was Mandy.

I answered the phone and tried to sound nonchalant.

“Hey Sweetie,” I said. “What’s up?”

“Am I interrupting something?” she asked.

“No. Not at all,” I replied.

“Where are you?” she growled.

“Just chilling at home,” I lied. “Where are you?”

“Tell me the truth, Jordan!” she shouted.

“OK, Mandy, I’m at my friend Sara’s house” I said. “I’m just helping her with her homework.”

“YOU LITTLE CHEATING WEASEL!” Mandy screamed. “YOU ARE GONNA PAY FOR THIS!!!!”

Then, she hung up the phone.

“Something wrong?” asked Sara.

“No,” I said. “It’s just my new girlfriend. She gets a little jealous sometimes…”

A few minutes later, the lights started flickering and suddenly, we were plunged into darkness. I groped my way in the dark, trying to find a light switch.

Just then, I heard a blood-curdling scream, followed by an eerie silence.

I fumbled around for the light switch and flicked it. The lights came back on. I turned around and screamed at the top of my lungs.

Sara was sitting on the sofa and blood was pouring from her neck. Her throat had been slashed and her head was hanging on by a thread. Her stomach had been ripped open and her intestines were dangling out of her body.

The horrible sight made my stomach churn and I threw up all over the coffee table.

As I was wiping the vomit from my mouth, I heard a voice behind me whisper my name.

I whirled around and saw Mandy standing there in the doorway. Her face was twisted into an angry grimace. Before I had a chance to react, she plunged a knife into my stomach.

“I warned you not to cheat on me,” she hissed.

I clutched my stomach and collapsed to my knees.

“I didn’t cheat,” I groaned.

That was all I managed to say before I blacked out and slipped into unconsciousness.

I awoke in the hospital with my mother and father at my bedside.

“Oh Honey, you’re okay,” my mother said tearfully. “The police found you on Sara’s floor. They said you almost bled to death. But, don’t worry. The doctors say you’re going to be fine. We were so worried about you.”

The pain in my stomach was so intense, I could barely talk.

“Mandy…” I gasped.

“Mandy?” my mom said. “Oh, don’t worry about Mandy. She’s fine.”

“Mandy’s outside right now, talking with the police,” said my father.

“She told us everything,” said my mother. “How the three of you were studying together… How Sara got jealous of your relationship… How Sara tried to kill you… How she managed to pull Sara off you and save your life… How she had to kill Sara in self defense…”

I stared at my mom in disbelief.

“No!” I croaked. “Mom… Mandy… tried… to kill… ”

Before I could get out another word, the door opened and Mandy came into the room.

“I warned you about cheating,” she said.

She reached into her purse, pulled out a gun and shot my mom in the face. My father grabbed Mandy’s arm and the gun went off again, firing a bullet into the ceiling. Mandy pulled out a large steak knife and started towards me. My father wrestled with her and began punching her in the face. Finally, he managed to subdue her, just as the police rushed in, wondering what all the commotion was about.

When they realized what was going on, the officers handcuffed Mandy and led her away. My mom was rushed into surgery and the doctors managed to save her life. She’s still in hospital and they say her face will be disfigured for life, but at least she’s alive.

The police brought Mandy down to the station and took her fingerprints. It turned out her real name was Gertrude Lipshitz and she was 30 years old. They said they had been searching for her for years and she managed to avoid the police by posing as a teenage girl. Apparently, she had a long criminal history. She had been stalking and murdering teenage boys for almost a decade.

They put her in jail and charged her with attempted murder. The trial was supposed to begin this morning and I was scheduled to testify. However, something went wrong.

When they were transporting her to the courthouse, Mandy overpowered the two police officers who were guarding her and managed to escape.

All day, the police have been scouring the area, trying to hunt her down. She can’t hide for long. They said they will let me know as soon as they catch her.

Wait a second, my phone is buzzing.

I think I have a text message.

It’s from a private number.

Private: “U should have locked ur bedroom window.”

I just heard a creak coming from my closet.

OMG! It’s her!
