Mirror of Truth is a short scary story about a vain young woman who is cursed to become ugly. It is based on an episode of the TV series Beyond Belief.
There was a young woman named Jocelyn who was very vain and shallow. All she thought about was her own looks. She often boasted about how beautiful she was and spent hours every day gazing at her own reflection in the mirror.
Her boyfriend was planning to propose to her and she wanted to look her best, so she decided to go to a beauty salon for a make-over.
The make-up artist was a gypsy and Jocelyn took an instant dislike to her. She wasn’t happy with the gypsy girl’s work and she got into an argument with her, shouting and screaming at the top of her lungs.
The gypsy girl flew into a rage.
“They say the eyes are the mirror to the soul!” she shouted. “I curse you! Let your face be the mirror of your soul!”
That evening, when Jocelyn got home, she felt the skin on her face begin to harden. She looked in the mirror and she was horrified by what she saw. The muscles of her face looked like they were changing, sagging and warping into a twisted mask of flesh.
By the time her boyfriend arrived, Jocelyn was almost hysterical. He told her that they needed to talk, but what he had to tell her was something she never expected to hear. He said he wanted to call off their wedding.
After he left, she ran into the bathroom and looked at her face in the mirror. It was worse than she thought. She was grotesquely ugly… hideous beyond belief.
She called the gypsy woman and apologized, begging her to remove the curse.
“You’ve got to help me!” she cried. “I can’t live with this face!”
Unfortunately, it was no use. The gypsy woman just hung up on her.
Jocelyn tried all manner of creams and powders, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, she went to see a plastic surgeon, but he said there was nothing he could do for her.
She would just have to learn to live with her hideous face.
Creepy face lady. That’s what happens when you only care about your looks.
don’t want to sound harsh, but i kinda wish this happened to people who are actually like this in society today, after a second chance of course!
If I was in place of her, which I hope would never happen, I would just build a house in a forest near a lake and live there for the rest of my life. Taking with me, my books, wifi and a laptop.
And this story was nice.
Actually, the ending was different. When the woman would look in the mirror, she would always see her horrible face, but every other person would see her face just like before!
I loved this TV-show

Ugliness is something that depends on the view point of person. It may vary. Now all she can do is to live with this face happily.
