The Older Sister is a creepy story about a young girl who longs to have a sister to play with. It is based on an idea by Bellemaus.
I always wanted a little sister. When my parents brought Sarah home, it was the happiest day of my life. She was so cute! I couldn’t wait to share my toys with her.
She slept in my mother and father’s room for the first couple of days. She cried a lot at first. She cried so loud that sometimes she would keep us all awake at night. I’m surprised the neighbors didn’t hear her.
Eventually, Daddy made a bedroom for her in the basement. He also built a bed for her with bars so she couldn’t get out. Sometimes I would creep down to the basement just to look at her. I’d see her lying there with her eyes open, just staring at the ceiling.
My parents told me not to give her anything sharp in case she hurt herself. I passed her some of my toys through the bars, but she just threw them away and started crying again. She didn’t seem to care for toys much.
I went to school during the week, but Sarah had to stay home. Mommy said she wasn’t ready for school yet. When I came home, I would always tell Sarah all about the stuff I had learned that day. I drew pictures of us playing together.
I’ll never forget the day I came home from school and Sarah was nowhere to be found. Her bed was empty and all her clothes were gone. Mommy was just sitting at the kitchen table, smoking a cigarette. She looked really sad. When I asked her where Sarah was, she started crying.
“Sarah’s gone,” she sobbed.
I didn’t understand. “We need to find her!” I cried.
My mother just shook her head. “Sarah’s dead. She’s in Heaven now.”
Daddy took her bed apart. He threw away all the drawings I had done of her. My parents never talked about Sarah again and they refused to mention her name. It was as if she had never existed.
I was puzzled by their behavior.
Then, one Saturday, my mother took me shopping with her. She had a package to mail, so we stopped at the post office. While my mother queued up to buy stamps, I looked at all the posters on the walls.
My eyes settled on one poster in particular. It was a picture of Sarah.
She was just as cute as I remembered.
Underneath her picture, there was some writing. It read:
“Missing. Sarah Winfield, age 16. Abducted from her home in 2011. If you have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact the police immediately…”
IT NEVER SAID ANYWHERE THAT SHE WAS A BABY!! I GET IT NOW, IT SAYS SHE WASN’T READY FOR SCHOOL BECAUSE SHE HAD JUST MOVED IN! I WAS SO DUMB!
I think that Sarah had a disorder that meant she never grew and looked just like a baby.
@WolfWitch13 but at the start, isn’t Sarah a baby? Because the story said that Sarah threw away her toys and started to cry all the time, she wasn’t ready for school, and the girl kept saying she was so cute. I honestly don’t get that she could be 16 year old in place of a baby body.
That was the most obvious story I have ever read I liked it
ohh!i did’nt get it
you guys are idiots XD
The little girl wanted a little sister, so her parents kidnapped Sarah. When they first brought her home the parents kept her in there room so she didn’t escape. She was crying for help. The dad made her a cage to sleep in. She refused to play with the toys, because she wanted to leave. The parents told her to not give Sarah something sharp, because they knew she would commit suicide. They didn’t let her go to school, because once again, she would escape. Either Sarah committed suicide, or she starved to death she died. Then that’s when the little girl sees the picture of Sarah.
Maybe Sarah was in the parents room cause they tried to explain the older sis had disabilities and maybe they were begging her to pretend to be a little sis. I think Sarah killed herself and not the parents. The parents just wanted to make their daughter happy. Sorry for my multiple comments. Oh and Sarah might have disorders too so she wasn’t ready for school and tried hurting and killing herself. I love these thoughtful stories and who is Bellemaus? Couldn’t find her in google.
I had a classmate that had a cousin who had a mental disorder and acted as like a 3 year old, it’s not called being retarded. I also think the parents kidnapped Sarah so their real daughter could have a little sis/ friend. This story is really tragic…
I had a classmate that bad s cousin who had brain disorders and always acted as if he was still 3 when he was a lot older. I like this story. I don’t think her parents were perverts, they probay kidnapped Sarah so their real daughter could have a little sister/ friend. It’s sad…
confusing at first but i figured it out …and scary i mean whoa
I don’t think the story mentioned that Sarah was 16 because you’re supposed to think she was a baby and be surprised at the end when you find out she wasn’t. But, that’s just my idea.
She was crying for help.
She refused the toys because she knew what had happened to her, and refused to accept anything from the family.
She wasn’t ready for school because if she was let out, she would have gone home again.
IT NEVER SAID THAT SARAH WAS A BABY!!!!!!
since no one said….FIRST btw i dont get it
wait im confuzled
SORRY FOR THE TYPOS
EVERYONE ITS SIMPLE THE GIRL WHOS SUPPSOSED TO BE THE OLDER SISTER IS EITHER RETARTED OR REALLY YOUNG THE REASON SHE SANT GO TO SHCOOL IS BECASUE SHE RUN AWAY OR TELL PEOPLE SHES KIDNAPPED OR THE RECONIZE HER AND THE PARENTS WERE PROBALY INSANE OR PERVERTS AND THATS WHY SHE WAS IN THERE ROOM
Man, is this story confusing.
I’d say maybe the “older sister” (the one who narrates the story) is a mentally disabled girl.
that’s why she still plays with toys. A normal kid will not say that sarah was her “little sister” because she’s bigger and older than her.
The parents forbid giving sharp objects to sarah, because she might use it to escape or kill herself.
when the parents saw that their child was getting too attached to sarah, they killed her.
the parents are a bunch of homicidal maniacs..
take note of the mother smoking cigarrete even her daughter is looking.
that’s not good parenting as well.
well a bit confusing.. but nice story!!
The reason why I’m confused is that I thought she was the older sister due to the fact that it says in the text: “I’ve always wanted a little sister”. So I thought she was a baby who was growing up during the whole story. In the first paragraph it read: “she cried a lot at first She cried so loud she would keep us all up at night.” Only babies bo that. The way she brought toys for her made me think tha aswell.
Yeah, didn’t make sense at all. I get that the parents kidnapped someone to have a new daughter, but her being sixteen? How is she not old enough to go to school? Why is the older sister, who has to be at least seventeen, drawing pictures like a little kid and playing with toys? If she had been six, if would have made sense. My mind is also boggling over the fact that the parents had Sarah sleeping in their room. Someone that age…were they doing bad things to her?!
i m also confused can anyone tell me what dis story mean
@catseeable It is a little confusing, but what I’m guessing happened is the parents kidnapped Sarah, who was a teenager, and tied her up in their bedroom at first. The father made a cage for her in the basement and then they moved her down there.
I’m guessing Sarah either starved herself or found a way to kill herself, if not the parents probably did it.
Im a bit confused? oh well xD
