Pokemon Black is a creepypasta story about a bootleg version of the Pokemon games for the Nintendo. A glitch or hack in the game means that other trainers and Pokemon can be killed.
I am an avid collector of old Pokémon games. I even collect bootleg games like Pokemon Diamond & Jade, Chaos Black, etc. It’s amazing how often you can find these games being sold second-hand at pawnshops, Goodwill, flea markets, and such.
They’re generally fun; even if they are unplayable (which they often are), the mistranslations and poor quality make them unintentionally humorous.
I’ve been able to find most of the ones that I’ve played online, but there’s one that I haven’t seen any mention of. I bought it at a flea market about five years ago. Here’s a picture of the cartridge, in case anyone recognizes it.
The title of the game is Pokemon Black. Unfortunately, when I moved two years ago, I lost the game, so I can’t provide you with screencaps of the actual graphics. Sorry.
The game started with the familiar Nidorino and Gengar intro of Red and Blue version. However, the “press start†screen had been altered. Red was there, but the Pokémon did not cycle through. It also said “Black Version†under the Pokémon logo.
Upon selecting “New Gameâ€, the game started the Professor Oak speech, and it quickly became evident that the game was essentially Pokémon Red Version.
After selecting your starter, if you looked at your Pokémon, you had in addition to Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle another Pokémon — “GHOSTâ€.
The Pokémon was level 1. It had the sprite of the Ghosts that are encountered in Lavender Tower before obtaining the Sliph Scope. It had one attack — “Curseâ€. I know that there is a real move named Curse, but the attack did not exist in Generation 1, so it appears it was hacked in.
Defending Pokémon were unable to attack Ghost — it would only say they were too scared to move. When the move “Curse†was used in battle, the screen would cut to black. The cry of the defending Pokémon would be heard, but it was distorted, played at a much lower pitch than normal. The battle screen would then reappear, and the defending Pokémon would be gone. If used in a battle against a trainer, when the Pokéballs representing their Pokemon would appear in the corner, they would have one fewer Pokéball.
The implication was that the Pokémon died.
What’s even stranger is that after defeating a trainer and seeing “Red received $200 for winning!â€, the battle commands would appear again. If you selected “Runâ€, the battle would end as it normally does. You could also select Curse. If you did, upon returning to the overworld, the trainer’s sprite would be gone. After leaving and reentering the area, the spot [where] the trainer had been would be replaced with a tombstone like the ones at Lavender Tower.
The move “Curse†was not usable in all instances. It would fail against Ghost Pokémon. It would also fail if it was used against trainers that you would have to face again, such as your Rival or Giovanni. It was usable in your final battle against them, however.
I figured this was the gimmick of the game, allowing you to use the previously uncapturable Ghosts. And because Curse made the game so easy, I essentially used it throughout the whole adventure.
The game changed quite a bit after defeating the Elite Four. After viewing the Hall of Fame, which consisted of Ghost and a couple of Pokemon I used for HM`s, the screen cut to black. A box appeared with the words “Many years later…†It then cut to Lavender Tower. An old man was standing, looking at tombstones. You then realized this man was your character.
The man moved at only half of your normal walking speed. You no longer had any Pokémon with you, not even Ghost, who up to this point had been impossible to remove from your party through depositing in the PC. The overworld was entirely empty — there were no people at all. There were still the tombstones of the trainers that you used Curse on, however. You could go pretty much anywhere in the overworld at this point, though your movement was limited by the fact that you had no Pokémon to use HMs. And regardless of where you went, the music of Lavender Town continued on an infinite loop. After wandering for a while, I found that if you go through Diglett’s Cave, one of the cuttable bushes that normally blocks the path on the other side is no longer there, allowing you to advance and return to Pallet Town.
Upon entering your house and going to the exact tile where you start the game, the screen would cut to black.
Then a sprite of a Caterpie appeared. It was the replaced by a Weedle, and then a Pidgey. I soon realized, as the Pokémon progressed from Rattata to Blastoise, that these were all of the Pokémon that I had used Curse on.
After the end of my Rival’s team, a Youngster appeared, and then a Bug Catcher. These were the trainers I had Cursed.
Throughout the sequence, the Lavender Town music was playing, but it was slowly decreasing in pitch. By the time your Rival appeared on screen, it was little more than a demonic rumble.
Another cut to black. A few moments later, the battle screen suddenly appeared — your trainer sprite was now that of an old man, the same one as the one who teaches you how to catch Pokémon in Viridian City.
Ghost appeared on the other side, along with the words “GHOST wants to fight!â€.
You couldn’t use items, and you had no Pokémon. If you tried to run, you couldn’t escape. The only option was “FIGHTâ€.
Using fight would immediately cause you to use Struggle, which didn’t affect Ghost but did chip off a bit of your own HP. When it was Ghost’s turn to attack, it would simply say “…†Eventually, when your HP reached a critical point, Ghost would finally use Curse.
The screen cut to black a final time.
Regardless of the buttons you pressed, you were permanently stuck in this black screen. At this point, the only thing you could do was turn the Game Boy off. When you played again, “NEW GAME†was the only option — the game had erased the file.
I played through this hacked game many, many times, and every time the game ended with this sequence. Several times I didn’t use Ghost at all, though he was impossible to remove from the party. In these cases, it did not show any Pokémon or trainers and simply cut to the climactic battle with Ghost.
I’m not sure what the motives were behind the creator of this hack. It wasn’t widely distributed, so it was presumably not for monetary gain. It was very well done for a bootleg.
It seems he was trying to convey a message; though it seems I am the sole receiver of this message. I’m not entirely sure what it was — the inevitability of death? The pointlessness of it? Perhaps he was simply trying to morbidly inject death and darkness into a children’s game. Regardless, this children’s game has made me think, and it has made me cry.
ITS CHAOS BLACK LOOSA

This was inspired by the Lavender Town creepypasta where the music was fumigate to kill you. Googlez it – it’s much scarier than this version (unless the gamer died at the time of ‘curse’ as well)…
cool story ilove tacos i lkd it
“Rock-ab”
Me and my family lived in a very big, beautiful house for more than five years when our mother decided that it was time for a renovation. That meant we had to move for a while,so two weeks later,we were already unpacking the boxes in our new temporary home. For some months, everything was ok.We were happy and had lots of things to do.But that was in spring. When summer came,we(me,my twin sister and my younger sister)started playing in the small garden that surrounded the house. Two or three days after that,we met one of the girls who was living there and we quickly became friends. There were two other girls, and we started to play with them too. They showed me an unfinished house where they used to play. They called it :”Rock-ab”.Rock because it was made with some kind of grey stone, and ab were the initials of the girls:Anne,Amy and Brittney. The house wasn’t special, just one thing about it was different. The stairs to the basement were underwater. The whole basement was flooded. The girls didn’t know exactly why, they tought it was because of the heavy rain, but we were ithe middle of summer.I always felt that something was wrong with that place, but it was also fascinating.Sometimes when we were in the middle of some games,we could hear pieces of the ceiling falling into the water. One day when the girls weren’t there i felt like I had to find what was really going on.I tried to go downstairs without falling into the dark, muddy water ,but I stopped halfway.I heard a faint sound, something like a scream coming from underwater, right in front of me.I would have never believed what I heard If I hadn’t seen it.Air bubbles.Air bubbles coming from underwater. They were getting bigger and bigger as I just stood there, watching.Soon after,I saw a thumb.A rotten, black thumb.I ran home, hiding under the blanket, trying to forget what I just saw.The next morning everything seemed fine,so I went to the bathroom to wash my teeth. As I was looking at the flowing water,I saw two black, rotten fingers coming from the drain.I ran out of the bathroom and for the next five hours, all I did was to sleep in my room.Soon enough I realised it couldn’t go on like this.I needed to go to the bathroom.I turned on all the lights and I lef the door open, just to feel more safe. While I was washing my hands,I closed my eyes, but I opened them quickly when I felt I dropped the soap.I tried to catch it and I was going to put it back when I realised that what I was holding was in fact three rotten, black fingers.
I’ve been to bathroom once more since that time, and I saw the fourth finger. That’s when I knew.It was coming after me.As soon as I will see the hand,it will grab me and drag me into the water.Right now I am locked into my room. All of the water bottles I had are in front of the door,or at the trash bin.I also blocked the water pipes in my house. As long as I won’t see any water,I’ll be fine…but how longer will I be able to survive?Wait!I can hear a sound comig from under my bed:”drip drip drip…”
Thanks for readin it hope you liked it! Btw,Rock-ab is real.
here is a story from creepy pasta its called
poor ol’dave
on top of a hill
inside a cave
lay the grave
of poor ol’dave
poor ol’ dave had wooden feet
porcelain hands and ivory teeth
he was never alive like you or me
his eyes are dead as coal you see?
but that never stopped that poor ol’dave
from crawling up from his rotten grave
into to the town he’d sneak
under those windowsils he’d creep
clickity-clack tappity-tap
those children knew ol’dave was there
and wet themselves in feared despair
never a word or look they’d peep
nor until day of light they’d sleep
most were lucky,others would cry
as they looked upon his eyes
he’d grin so wide then disappear
the child would cry aloud in fear
but no my child. it much to late
those tiny hands would touch your face
clackity-clack tappity-tap.

BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING
NOT SCARY NOT SCARY NOT SCARY
^please tell me what you think of the story!
I Witnessed:
I was walking home late one friday night from my best friend’s house,it was around 7 or 8:30 p.m.I was one street away from my house.I looked in a window of one of the older looking homes.I saw a little girl with beautiful blonde curls and dazzling blue eyes.I coudnt help but stare I was so dazed by such beauty. That little girl was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my entire life.I saw a tear streaking down her rosy red cheek. She was crying, but I didnt know why.I came closer and I could see she was wearing a lovely silk pink dress with sleeves reaching to her elbows. The dress flowed elagantly to her ankles. The girl sat down and buried her face in to her lap and started to cry even more.I heard heavy footsteps and someone yelling angrily. It must have been her father. He wasnt drunk, and his only high was hate and bitterness.I had to protect her.If only I could make the girl see or hear me.I started tapping on the window, then pounding and even shouting, but she didnt so much as glance up.If only I could reach to save her,but there was no way I could do that,I was far to weak.I had to do something!I reached in my purse for my cellphone to call 9-1-1 only to realize I left it at my friend’s house.I saw the bedroom door open and I knew it was to late the girl was doomed.I couldnt move,I was in shock that somebody would do something like that.I could only watch and I saw him take one last punch and she was done for.She wasnt the beauty I was dazed by,no not anymore. Now she was just a abused, bloody, lifeless body. That was all I could take I felt dizzy the world swirling in to darkness…
I woke up the next morning in my bed.Relief washed over me as I realized last night was just a horrible nightmare.I flipped the t.v. on and tryed to find something to watch.I settled for the news and I was horrified. The little girl’s father was on the news, face haggard, hair white, and totally insane. He was being arrested for the murder and just singing Blood is red, tears are clear I killed my daughter over there,I destroy all witnesses, and then he laughed like a maniac,a madman’s lullaby.I felt a pain as I knew that was not a dream and I was next to die all because I witnessed.
you should add the tails doll curse.
boring
