Robot Woman is a scary horror comic about a hideously ugly scientist who creates a woman who will love him. It was drawn by Basil Wolverton and appeared in Weird Mysteries #02 (1952).
The story begins with Fozzmo, a brilliant scientist and inventor who builds robots. His only problem is that he is disgustingly ugly and people shudder at the sight of his face.
Poor Fozzmo just wishes he could find a woman who could look at him without being disgusted.
All of a sudden, he has an idea. He will build a female robot and make it into his perfect woman.
When his creation is complete, he reveals her to the world, live on TV.
At first, Fozzmo enjoys the attention of a beautiful robot who loves only him. However, as time goes on, it becomes irritating.
Eventually, the robot woman annoys him so much that he loses his temper and punches her in the face.
When he returns, an hour later, he is horrified to find that the robot woman’s face has melted.
She tries to embrace him, but he recoils in disgust. He staggers back and knocks over some bottles that come crashing down on him.
Unfortunately, the bottles contain acid.
Fozzmo isn’t seen for days and nobody notices that anything is wrong, until someone comes into the building and finds the disfigured robot woman guarding his corpse.
Amazing! I loved this story!
