More tricky riddles for you to solve. Read the stories and see if you can come up with a solution for the creepy hidden meaning in each one.
1. Spots
When I was in junior high school, there was a girl in my class whose nickname was “Spots”. They called her that because she was always covered in bruises. Sometimes I saw her crying in school. My friends told me her father was violent and abusive. I felt sorry for her. One day I met her mother. She was haggard and covered in bruises as well. It was a sad situation.
A few years later, I heard from my friends that Spots’ father had died of a heart attack. Later, I ran into Spots and her mother in the street. Spots looked happy and healthy, but her mother still looked haggard and bruised.
Another few years passed and I hadn’t heard anything from Spots. One day, I was shopping at the mall when I happened to meet her mother. She was looking very happy and healthy. I rushed over and introduced myself. Then, I asked her how Spots was doing.
“Oh, she died in a car crash a few months ago,” her mother replied.
I was so shocked, I couldn’t say anything. It was so sad.
2. Alcohol
I’m a scientist. For years, I’ve been working on a chemical that turns water into alcohol. I think it’s going to make me rich. All you do is put one drop of this chemical in a glass of water and it will instantly be transformed into pure alcohol. It works on tap water, well water, rainwater, anything that contains water. I think I’ve perfected it. Now, all that remains is to see how it tastes. Let me take a sip. Mmmmmm. Tastes good. Eactly like alchol. Nobody coud tell the diffence.
3. Bowling Ball
“Did you know that the human head is the same weight as a bowling ball?” my friend asked.
He thinks he’s so smart. He has a book of random facts and he keeps bringing them up in conversation.
“Yeah, I already knew that,” I said.
4. Robber
There was a young couple who had been dating for two years. On her birthday, the girl decided to invite her boyfriend over to her apartment. She wanted them to have a romantic dinner together. The young man agreed.
On the night of her birthday, as she was preparing the special dinner, she got a phonecall. It was her boyfriend.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I’ve got to stay late at work. I have a very important deal to take care of.”
The girl was furious. She shouted at him and hung up the phone. All alone and miserable, she sat down at the table and started eating the food she had prepared for both of them.
Just then, the lights went off and she was plunged into darkness. She heard footsteps creeping up behind her and a hand grabbed her shoulder. The girl screamed and swung the fork she was holding in her hand. There was a dull thud as her attacker fell to the floor.
She hurried to her bedroom, locked the door and called the police. A few minutes later, two officers arrived and entered the apartment. They identified themselves and the girl unlocked her bedroom door. She waited while they searched the apartment.
When they came back, one of the policemen said, “There’s a dead man lying on your kitchen floor with a fork stuck in his throat.”
The girl broke down in tears. The policemen tried to comfort her.
“I didn’t mean to kill him,” she sobbed. “It was self-defence.”
“Yes,” said the policeman. “It looks like the robber was trying to steal this wedding ring.”
5. Elevator
There was an elevator in a high-rise apartment building. Too many people got on. The weight of the people exceeded the maximum weight capacity of the elevator. When it was coming to the top floor, the cable suddenly snapped. The elevator plunged to the bottom. I was going to call an ambulance, but that wasn’t necessary. Nobody was injured.
6. In the Dark
I was awoken by a strange sound.
However, it’s still dark outside.
As I fumble for the light switch, I wonder what time it is.
Very early, I guess.
Even though I flick the switch, the light doesn’t come on.
No electricity, I guess.
Only thing I can do is lie here and wait for dawn.
Everything is eerily silent.
Yet, I’m sure I heard something.
Even though I can’t see, I can listen.
Something is there, I’m sure of it.
7. Summer Camp Seance
My parents sent me to summer camp. I didn’t want to go. Maybe they were punishing me. Whoever came up with the idea of a camp for teenagers? The horror of it! The camp is painfully boring. There is never anything to do. “Once you get here, you’ll never want to leave!” That’s the motto plasted over the front gate. How depressing, to be stuck here forver. The other campers are an unfriendly bunch. They’re rude, ignorant and inconsiderate. The worst thing is having to share a cabin with them.
I have to share my cabin with two nerds. A male and a female. I call them Nerdboy and Nerdgirl. They’re like another species. Somewhere in the guidebook book for nerds, there must be a rule stating: “You have to talk like an idiot and wear glasses, plaid shirts and pleated pants.” They are also deathly boring. I ignore them and they ignore me. It seems like nerds flock together, because Nerdboy and Nerdgirl often bring their nerdy friends to the cabin. They sit around and discuss science or computers. Listening to them talk makes me want to hang myself.
One day, they veered off-topic and started dicussing supernatural phenomena. I was lying on the top bunk listening to their conversation. Nerdboy was telling everyone that, two years ago, in this very camp, a girl had been brutally murdered and her killer was never found. He said he asked the counselors about it, but they refused to discuss it. They wouldn’t even tell him in which of the cabins the murder happened. But Nerdboy was a budding detective and had conducted his own investigation. He said he had determined that the murder happened in our cabin. What horror!
Nerdgirl said she knew how to make a ouija board and suggested that they try and contact the spirit of the deceased. However, this board she constructed was laughable. It was made from a piece of cardboard cut out of a cereal box and as a planchette, she was using the cap from a bottle of Gatorade. I was stunned that they thought it would work.
As soon as it got dark, the four inept paranormal investigators lit some candles, burned some incense and sat around the table. I, of course, was not invited to participate, but from the top bunk, I could see and hear everything. The nerds joined hands and Nerdboy said, “Spirit of the deceased, communicate with us!” It was all I could do to stop myself from bursting out laughing. Then, they all placed their fingers on the bottle cap and waited with bated breath.
“Spirit, are you there?” asked Nerdboy.
The bottle cap began to move and they all read the reply: “Y-E-S”
“Were you murdered?” Nerdgirl asked.
“Y-E-S”
“How old are you?” asked one of the other nerds.
I couldn’t stand it anymore.
I put on a creepy voice and said, “Thirteen!”
They all screamed, jumped up and fled from the cabin in terror. It was so funny.
8. Old Lady
There was an old lady who had been living alone ever since her husband died. She was very lonely and her children rarely visited. After a long time away, her oldest daughter came back to live with her. One day, they were watching TV in the living room when the news came on. There was a story about a woman who had been arrested for attempting to strangle her mother.
“Such a stupid thing to do,” the old lady said.
“Yes,” her daughter agreed. “Strangling her mother was a stupid thing to do.”
9. Night Fishing
My friend I went to a remote fishing spot in the mountains. We were planning to do some night fishing. In the parking lot, there was already one other car. We made our way down to the lake and further down, we could see the light of a campfire burning.
While we were fishing, a man came out of the bushes. He was holding a log.
“What brings you all the way out here?” he asked.
“We’re night fishing,” I replied. “Are we disturbing you?
“No… I don’t mind,” he said. “I thought you were on your own.”
The man turned around and went back over to his campfire. We went back to our fishing and didn’t think any more about him.
Then, just two weeks later, I saw an article in the newspaper. It said that a man had been arrested for murdering his wife. He had taken her corpse up to the mountains and burned it to destroy the evidence. I looked at his picture. It was the face of the man who talked to us that night at the fishing spot.
#7 the girl is ignoring/being ignored b cause she is tge victim and they were scared because she talked to them
#4is he wanted to surprise her by purposing and she killed him
#2- pure alcohol is dangerous, it’s ethanol, which is both flammable AND dangerous
i got #4 right away and i was just like….bro ;;
1. The father was abusing her, and she was abusing the mother.
2. His body contains a ton of water, so as soon as the chemical touches his tongue, his body’s water is being changed to alcohol, and he will die.
3. The kid has compared the weight of a human skull to a bowling ball, meaning he has held a human skull.
4. Self evident, but tragic nonetheless.
5. nobody was injured because they were all dead.
6. First letter of every line spells I-H-A-V-E-N-O-E-Y-E-S
7. The storyteller is the murder victim. She is ignored by everyone because they can’t see her, and they didn’t invite her to the board for the same reason.
8. She intends to kill her mother a more strategic way.
9. He was burning his wife when they saw him. He was going to kill him too, until he realized there were two of them. He didn’t want to risk one of them getting away, so he decided to take his chances with letting them live.
Yes! I got it!
Finally I got the number six answer. Maybe the narrator was buried alive. And he’s inside his coffin, because, he was awoken my the sound ( sound of mud being poured on him ) eerily silent ( it’s so silent in a coffin) the lights couldn’t come in, ( it’s dark and light switches are also not in the cofin ) he heard something. ( the sound of people crying or praying for his death, it was actually his spirit…. Am I right? Plus English is not my first language, so I apolize for my mistakes.
2-spots was abusing her mother later on.
4-poor boyfriend he was about to propose her.
5- no one was injured they all died on the spot.
I think I got #2. The guy says that oned rop of the chemical replaces water with alcohol. He drank it witht he drop still in the water. The water in his body will soon be turned toa lcohol and he’ll die :P. Did I get it right? :P
1. Spots abused her mother. When her dad died, her bruises went away. Her mother’s didn’t go away until Spots died.
2. If the chemical turns all water into alcohol and he drank it, ask the water in his body will be replaced by alcohol. He just killed himself.
3. The narrator has held a human head before.
4. Her boyfriend planned everything as a unique proposal. She accidently killed her boyfriend. He wasn’t stealing a wedding ring because she wasn’t married. He brought it to propose.
5. Nobody was injured because everyone was instantly killed on impact. I’m not 100% sure about this one though. It could just be me but it seems like it’s lacking something.
6. The narrator is blind. He isn’t completely sure of any of his surroundings. He keeps saying, “I guess.” Also, the first letter of every sentence makes the sentence “I have no eyes.”
7. The narrator is the ghost of the murdered girl. Her cabin mates “ignore” her because they don’t know she’s there. She also isn’t afraid of the moving cap. Lastly, the other campers were so scared when she said “thirteen” because it really was the ghost speaking. No one else was there.
8. The news story was an old one about the daughter. She came back home to her mom because she just got out of jail. The news story said the daughter was arrested, she didn’t get away with it and it technically never states she killed the mom. The daughter also had moved back in with her mother “after a long time away,” this is implying she was in jail after being arrested. And of course she agrees strangling her mother was a stupid thing to do.
9. First of all, an extra little detail could be that the campfire the two fisherman saw was the man burning the corpse of his wife. Also, he seemed to confront the narrator later on for no specific reason except the fact that he thought he was alone. Hmmm…..
#2- the scientist said one drop will turn all forms of water into alcohol, and he drinks it. this will replace ALL of the water in his body, meaning he will die.
Scaryforkids says: You got it!
#1: Spots might have gotten abused by her father, but the only time the mother looked healthy was when Spots was gone. Spots probably abused her mother to get revenge on her for marrying an abusive and violent man. Also, the mother looked happy that Spots had died. PLUS, the mother responded when the narrator asked how ‘Spots’ was doing. The mother knew about her daughter’s nickname yet never did anything about it.
#2: It isn’t drinking alcohol, but rather rubbing alcohol, probably, or some other poisonous type of alcohol. The narrator said no one would be able to tell the difference between this drink and real alcohol. Wait, no, that wouldn’t work, because the narrator drank the alcohol, so he would have died. So the solution is probably something about how the water could never be pure alcohol – it would be just water mixed with a chemical that makes it taste exactly like alcohol.
#3: The narrator has obviously held a human head before, or else he stalks his friend and reads the interesting facts book over his shoulder.
#4: First of all, there’s a typo – the robber was not lying dead on her kitchen fork, he was lying dead on her kitchen floor. Second of all, why would the girl be sad if she didn’t already know who the man was? She would only be sad if she knew the man was her boyfriend.
#5: The narrator knew that the cable snapped and there were too many people in the elevator. He also knew no one was injured. He was going to call the ambulance, but didn’t. He could only know all of this if he was either in the elevator, which he wasn’t because he would have told some people to get off, or if he was the one that snapped the cable himself.
#6: I don’t know. I don’t know. This is confusing…
#7: If they knew it was the spirit moving the cap, they wouldn’t have been scared when it talked because they already knew it was there. Obviously, someone was moving the cap, and they knew no one was actually there.
#8: The news story only said she had attempted to strangle her mother. The oldest daughter must have known something about the murder, like maybe she attempted to strangle the old woman in her sleep. She escaped from jail, and wanted to finish the job.
My Answers:
1- Spots abused her mother, and beat herself up and blamed the bruises on her father.
2- He only took a sip because maybe it was a poison that, if taken in large quantities, could kill a person. He made it taste like regular alcohol.
3- He murdered someone, beheaded them, and put the head in a bowling ball bag.
4- It was her boyfriend, and he was going to surprise her with a proposal.
5- Everyone was dead, so an ambulance wouldn’t be needed. Just a coroner.
6- First letter of every sentence spells out “I have no eyes”.
7- She was the ghost. That is why they ignored her and didn’t invite her to join them.
8- The old woman was dead. The daughter strangled her, and the news story was about them.
I tried!!! BTW I just made my account on the site, and I am super happy!!! 😀
Oh my gosh. Sorry, I must’ve been thinking something concerning August 4 ’cause that’s what I accidentally typed! I turned 14 just this January 17. @evil-kittens So I’m kinda older than you! >_< Okay, what's your account name?

#4 is so sad. :(
3. The guy has held a severed head before probably.
4. The guy was gonna propose.
5. They all died.
6. The first letter of each of the sentences, going downward, is ‘I have no eyes.( he’s blind)
8. The daughter is gonna kill the mom
1) Spots was abused by her father. So when Spots’ father died she was happy & healthy but her mother wasn’t. And when Spots died her mother was happy & healthy. So this means Spots used to abuse her mother.
3) I think the kid held a human head before cuz he said he knew that it weighs same as a bowling ball.
4) She didn’t kill any robber. She killed her boyfriend. He wanted to surprise her so he lied about the work & went to her house, turned the lights off & held her on her shoulder to surprise her. And the wedding ring was to propose her. Poor guy!
6) Put together the first letters of each sentence & you get “IHAVENOEYES” (I HAVE NO EYES) (HE’S BLIND)
7) The daughter agreed “Strangling her mother was a stupid thing to do.†Instead killing her in a different way would have been better. So I’m guessing that she’s going to kill her mother too but in a different way.
@ScaryForKids- pls help!
@evil-kittens Woah. Thank you! You’re making me blush… I’m sure you can do this to, you know, if I hadn’t butted in.. Everyone’s amazing and unique in their own way. I’m so glad I can help (even if some answers are wrong) and I’m really happy that somebody complimented me (I mean, you did right? ‘Cause this would be so awkward) ! I’m sorry I’m gushing right now, I’m just giddy and what you said helped me too (as in, really) ! *u*
Thank you, dear stranger~!
P.S. I’m not really that smart.. >_< But thank you so much anyway!
2. the story said pure alcohol. I think it means 100% alcohol. You can’t drink a 100% alcohol, it would be dangerous. And the scientist takes a sip.
Miss_Terious_Potato u are amazing unbelievable and so smart
Hmm.. These really are tricky.
1. Spots was abused by her father, right? So maybe, she adapted her father’s attitudes and abused her own mother. Her mother had had enough so she killed her daughter and made it seem like an accident.
2. I don’t really get it.. Nobody could tell the difference. There’s something weird about that one sentence.. Like the answer somewhat revolves there.. Or maybe I’m just thinking things.
3. Oh, I don’t know. Maybe the speaker had held a human head before and so could tell the difference.
4. She had killed her boyfriend. He wanted to surprise her so he pretended to work over-time. When he was to hug her, she freaked out and swiped blindly, accidentally stabbing him on the neck with a fork. He wasn’t going to steal the ring, he was about to propose.
5. Nobody was injured, because everyone was dead. It said that it was a high-rise apartment and that it was about to reach the top floor when the cable broke and the elevator plunged down.
6. I don’t get what he heard… But he’s blind. The first proof is that instead of looking outside or looking at the clock, he keeps guessing. Like ‘Very early, I guess.’ and ‘No electricity, I guess.’ But then I said ‘These don’t make any sense.’ So I read it again and again. I still couldn’t understand, so I typed my answer here and as I was reviewing the story, I noticed something weird. These didn’t rhyme much so they were put in this form intentionally. I read the first letter of each sentance from top to bottom and a chill ran down my spine. My eyes widened and I couldn’t believe I took so long to decode it! “I have no eyes” he said.
8. The daughter agreed that strangling her mother was a stupid thing to do. Not killing her mother. So I’m guessing that she’s going to kill her mother too, but not in that same too-risky way.
@ScaryForKids post the answers soon please! Thank you!
P.S. These are really amazing! I love racking my brain for answers and asking my friends for help ( I don’t forget to give this website credit ) !
