A Walk in the Park is a scary story about someone who has a creepy experience one evening in a public park.
One evening, I was coming home from work and I took a short cut through the park. The sky was overcast and dark clouds were gathering. The light was fading fast and soon it would be dark.
As I walked along the path, something caught my attention. I heard faint murmurs coming from behind the trees. Among the bushes, I saw an old, handicapped man who had fallen out of his wheelchair. I was about to go and help him, but something stopped me. I was frightened.
Just then, I saw a teenage boy running up to him. As I watched, the boy quickly helped the man back into his wheelchair. The old man smiled and took the boy’s arm.
“Thank you,” he said. “I’m very grateful. For such a good deed, you deserve a reward.”
When I heard him say that, it made me feel guilty. Why did I hesitate? Why didn’t I rush over to help him? I was also a little jealous that the boy was going to get a reward. That could have been me.
I started walking again, but when I glanced back, I saw something that stopped me in my tracks. The old man was standing up. He was grabbing the boy’s arm tightly, while his other hand was clamped over the boy’s mouth to stifle his cries.
I wanted to run up there, but I was frozen to the spot. My legs wouldn’t move. I was filled with terror and it was as if I was rooted to the ground.
I watched in horror as the old man bit into the boy’s arm, his sharp teeth sinking into the flesh. I didn’t want to see it, but yet I could not look away. The boy crumpled up like a deflated balloon, as if every last drop of his blood was being sucked out of him. The old man began to transform, becoming younger and younger right before my eyes.
I ran off as fast as I could and searched for help. Finally, i found a policeman and convinced him to come back to the park with me. When we got back to the spot, the old man was long gone. His wheelchair was still there among the bushes and sitting slumped in it were the remains of the teenage boy.
All that was left of him was his skin and his clothes.
